“Symphonic Yerevan” festival to be held in Yerevan on August 12-25

The international music festival “Symphonic Yerevan” is going to be held in Yerevan on August 12-25. This musical project initiated by the State Symphonic Orchestra of Armenia and the European Foundation for Support of Culture with the support of Yerevan Municipality.

As the First Deputy Mayor Levon Hovhannisyan says, a highly interesting cultural event is going to be held in the capital. It will surely raise interest both among townspeople and guests of Yerevan. Actually, the festival might become annual.
The festival consists of 14 concerts. The repertoire includes works by Armenian and foreign composers: Mozart, Schubert, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Khachaturyan, Mansuryan.

“Symphonic Yerevan” will attract world famous musicians to Armenia. The musical events will be led by conductors Daniel Raiskin, Gergeli Madaras, Sergey Smbatyan.

The aim of the festival is to benefit to popularization of classical music.

The students of the municipal cultural centres and music schools will participate in the event as well. Young musicians will get the opportunity to communicate with eminent musicians who will also provide master classes for them.
“Symphonic Yerevan” festival is another possibility to boost tourism in Yerevan with new, musical initiatives.
